Dana College, which had been struggling financially, announced this spring that it was in negotiations for sale to a for-profit corporation. This summer, the Higher Learning Commission informed the College that the HLC would not renew Dana’s accreditation if the sale were to go through. Dana has therefore announced its closure.
Current students near graduation will be able to complete their degrees through agreements with the University of Nebraska, Omaha and Grand View University (Des Moines, Iowa). The State Conference extends its best wishes to the students and faculty members of Dana College on this unfortunate news.
